Is the support from youths, some republicans, and independents the reason why Obama won?

Some republicans claim Obama only won because of the fact that he got 95% of the black vote in the election. However in recent times most democratic candidates (Clinton, Gore, Kerry) got around 85%-90% of black vote so Obama probably only got 5% more due to him being black. It seems that more republicans voted for obama than democrats for mccain and he got most of independent vote and there were a record of young voters who participated in this election (majority of whom voted for obama).
