Will braces give me better 'facial harmony?'?

in a nutshell, i look like ratchet face off of the movie crybaby when i smile! i look scary rather that happy or pleasant or anything you're supposed to look like when you're smiling. the skin under my eyes sinks in and i look strange because my cheekbones are weird, i think they may be too low, i heard braces may sharpen them & make them higher..? but anyways i got damon braces put on back in may for posterior crossbite and slight overbite. i think the combination of these two maloclussions has made my face look hard and unbalanced. i just want to know will braces make my face look more balanced and softer overall, or atleast make me stop looking a deranged psychopath when i smile?
