Should I get a second opinion on my son's PDD-NOS Diagnosis?

My son had all the "clic" symptoms of Autism as a child 9 mo-4y/o. He was considered "tered skilled" and "developmentally delayed". He had major communication delays. At about 4y/o my son began "waking" up, so to speak... his vocabulary was still low but, he would attempt to communicate. Thanks to our pedi, my son had early intervention that has helped him tremendously!! We still had communication and social issues so I decided to have my son officially tested. He was diagnosed as PDD-NOS (on the spectrum but high functioning). My son is currenty 6 and scores with a high IQ and can read and more advance than some of his peers, But he still has communication and social issues. He speaks clearly and if you're patient you can understand what my son is trying to convey, but he doesn't speak in full or complete sentences. His social skills are getting some what better due to curiousity but he still opts to play alone or not engage in peer play at all. We got a diagnosis, but I'm wondering if I should get a second opinion. His Dr. said if he didn't read he would have definately fell as a firm ASD diagnosis. I spent years helping my son, going to therapies every other day, reading books, educating myself on how to better help him. We've gotten this far but we still have issues to work on. Therapies are very expensive and the cles I want him to take are way out of my budget, I want to get a ASD diagnosis so I can get better insight on resources and possibly get more therapies as he gets older. I definately think we can knock this but I need more time and I have no idea where to go, where to look. I can handle helping him understand elementary aged curiculum but as he gets into higher grades I'm afraid I won't be able to help him. I'm stuck on what to do? Should I try for a second diagnosis...if I do, do I tell them he has already been diagnosed? At times I get so angry i don't know what to do with myself. I had undergone orthodontic treatment recently but was not very satisfied with the results and need a few more minor adjustments as it has affected the structure of my face. What can do I do for my guinea pig's sore foot?

Yesterday morning a scab on my guinea pig's foot tore and it started bleeding terribly. I was so scared and since it was Sunday the vet was closed. I used cornstarch and applied pressure. Fortunately it clotted and today he's doing a lot better. I took the wire floor out of his cage which probably caused his scab to begin with so now he has a soft surface to walk on. He's overall healthy but there is still a sore on his foot. Is there anything else I can do to help heal his sore faster? I'm afraid of applying a bandage because he could bite it off ripping his scab and if I put ointment on it he could lick it off and ingest it.

Your not fat, but you do have to eat vegetables and fruits if your not eating them. But you can get juices now that have a serving in them (V8 juice, really good, tastes like juice, but you get vegetables! Just get the right kind though if you buy it) Maybe exercise more, and slowly eat less.

I do the same thing!! I get a lot of chest colds and everyone says "get in the shower, it'll help clear your lungs," but it makes me HUGELY worse. What you are feeling is totally normal! You are actually lucky to have been able to go as long as you did. I stopped bf at 4 1/2 months - my supply was constantly low It was such a task to feed my daughter Then one day i got sick with the flu and every time i tried to feed her it would make me vomit. I decided it was best for both of us to switch to the bottle. To this day 7 months later I feel a little saddened when i think about it and envious of mothers i see bf. Its almost like you feel you failed and couldn't provide for your child properly.. My friend went through the same. It def has to do with your hormones all out of whack again to readjust to not to produce milk. The answer before mine could be right DEPENDING on what process was used to preserve the head... nowdays some of the cheaper heads on the market are freeze-dried and not sealed correctly... if any moisture comes in contact with an area that hasn't been sealed properly on a freeze-dried mount, you're in for quite a stink after a while. Safest method if you're not sure if it's a freeze-dried head or not is to wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth and not let the dust build up on it to begin with. The eyes are gl or plastic either way, so you can carefully clean them with a paper towel moistened with gl cleaner, but I'd be very careful about getting any moisture on the skin itself if there's any possibility that it's a freezedried head.

I see what your getting at but considering 90% of the food and products we encounter are filled with "junk", it wouldn't be so clean of a tax. I'm a freshmen in college and I met this really nice third-year guy over a week-long alternative spring trip. Over the trip he was kind of flirty with me, and I suppose I was with him as well. I admit I found myself quite attracted to him, but was wary as of whether or not to give it a shot, since I had just gotten out of a bad relationship a few weeks prior and was worried I had just fallen for the first nice person to come my way, a rebound per say. However, on the day we returned from the trip, the dining facilities on campus were all still closed until the following day, and I didn't have anything in my dorm to eat. He lives off campus and has a car, and had offered to take me somewhere. I ended up taking him up on it, anticipating to pay for myself and for him too as a way of thanks. It ended up being like a date, however, and he even bought me my food and left the tip. It was a first date of sorts yet his company was nicer than anything my ex ever did for me. We made plans to meet up later in the week, but they never really happened, mostly just because I was shy and didn't call him up like I said I would, and as I mentioned before was worried I was liking him for the wrong reasons. Anyways, we ended up getting sushi the following weekend with some friends from the trip and then we all met his guinea pigs he has at home, since the place was near where he lived, haha. Since then we had a lot of silly text correspondences and to-be plans that never happened, and the only times I saw him were at club meetings and at accidental bump-intos at student run events he's involved with. Initially after the trip, he seemed really interested, but I was shy and admitting sending mixed messages because I was unsure of where my feelings stemmed from. And now, a few weeks later I realize that I really like him for the person he is, not as a rebound relationship, and I fear it's been too late. I can't tell if I still have a chance with him, and the school year is ending in about 5 weeks. So, I'm not sure what to do. Tomorrow I think we have another sushi date with some friends, as I saw him today at a leadership conference offered by our school. I suppose I'm also really intimidated because I wonder what a third year student would want to do with a freshie, and he's super involved on campus, even running for student government VP. HI,I am looking at a used 2004 sportsman 400 4x4 with 2028 miles. the person that has it now is the second owner and they say they got it from a senior citizen who just did leisure riding in the south east. The people that have it now say they've had it a year and only put 15 or so miles on it. They have replaced CTV joints and things of that nature in hopes of keeping it. they also put a 2500lb winch (warn) on it and haven't used it. Kangaroo Rat as a pet?

Betta fish tail problem?

Hi. i have had a betta fish since october. Afew months ago, my betta fish got a large amount of ammoia in its tank because we didnt clean his bowl regularly. We quickly went to a local pet shop and found out how to fix it and now we try to keep him healthy. He has checkups using a tester for acid and arkeline and also weekly 3rd bowl changes. although, after the effects of the ammonia build-up, my bettas tail has become tattered and stringy. (Not shorter like the tail infection) and he also spends a while at the bottom of the bowl only swimming around when i come in. (because of food!) he also does not flare with his gills as he used to around the other fish. We also try to keep the temperature around 21 degrees (with a light) and feed him betta flakes (which are healthy for bettas) and his colour is mostly fine. I would also like to point out he seems to hide under ornomnets in the shade from the lamp. (problem?) anyway, thanks. hope for replies soon!

is Schubert okay? it was in my grade four exam pieces book last year, and it's two waltzes combined, and they're inventively called 'two waltzes' and it's a lovely piece. Permanently get rid of heel pain?

I think i have plantar fasciitus, Both of my heels hurt now.. usually it was 1 or the other but now its both. okay...first of all if you want to become "skinner", you have to keep this in mind. Your body's statistics (weight,height,muscle m...etc) weight heavily on genetics. To gain more muscle m and loose weight aka "skinner", you have to watch diet and exercise. Not one,but both. To loose weight you do aerobic (cardio, running, swimming...etc) to gain muscle do anaerobic (life weights,but keep your heart rate lower than "cardio heart level"). You will notice at first, your leg muscles get bigger, then you pectoral muscles & arms. Finally, your abdomen area (abs,stomach,gut...etc) get smaller. SO, if you want a 6 pack, its not just doing 600 sit ups a day. Its about reducing your body fat in your stomach area. So, a 6 pack translates into somewhere between 9-12% body fat. I recommend onto of reading all of this, you take in proteins offering lean fat , such as turkey and taking in more linoleic acid. I take in linoleic acid in almost everyday, and it has been proven and I find has helped me, you can get it from olives, thats where I get it. Finally, take a mulivitamin. Hope this helped you

Ever since I was little I would always have to have my socks on perfectly like that little line where the toes are has to be on straight and not all messed up when I was really little and people put my shoes on for me i would get so mad and throw a fit if the socks were messed up. And when I go to bed and cover up with my blanket i always take the end of the blanket at the foot of the bed tuck it under my feet oh and i hate sleeping with a top sheet i only use the fitted.

In the name of music television, the audience is exposed to a lot nudity and skin show resulting in high libido among people in their pre-teens. The consequences are pre-marital , date s, molestation of minor by minors, other forms of ual harment of women and girls at their work places. The worst scenario is that certain paedophiles visit the internet for certain heinous purposes and try to trap innocent children visiting the net. There are many websites which openly discuss and soloicit from children and also put up sadistic jokes for enjoyment by such perverts. The point which I am trying to make here is that is not high time that governments of all countries wake up to the menace being created through the misuse of modern media ? Are we waiting for statistics of ual crimes to crop at a level when these things would have gone out of our hands? Can't we make stronger laws to protect the dignity and modesty of women and children who are being abused daily in the name of emancipation and modernism.? Believe me! Incidents of eve-teasing and molestations of women and children are getting a casual treatment all over the world without an eyebrow being raised to the seriousness of such crimes and the devastating effects it can have on the victims. Perpetrators of such crimes are able to walk free after being arrested just because they are either children of top politicians or on the pretext that they were mentally ill or that they got too carried away by the level of voyeurism in the media. Have you attempted to discuss this with your psychiatrist to perhaps prescribe you another medication that will help you more with your anxiety issues? Counseling would also be a great option for you. You will learn to work through your issues and social skills. There is nothing wrong with the fact that you want to live independently. In fact I think it is great. You are making progress on your own by joining groups and studying drama. This also might help you to be more social and get you out of isolation. Keep up the good work. That would work. The only danger would be if you forgot to turn it off when you leave the car and have a small gas leak. Making beef stew question?

This is my first time making stew. I browned the meat after coated it in flour for about 2 minutes each half pound. Im not sure if i browned it enough it was like light brown and you could still see some red in some of the pieces. I just didn't wanna cook it too long so it doesn't turn hard and chewy. My recipe asks for 2 and a half cups of veggie juice, doesn't say anything about water. I added 3 cups. Now im not sure but should a add more juice as it cooks , or water? I just don't wanna mess it up or change the flavor... Im cooking in in the crock pot on high for 2 hours and low for like 5...

Lung Pain after just getting over bronchitis?

So this winter has been very hard on me I got bronchitis 2 or 3 times i just finished my meds for it today about 5 minutes ago. But my left lung hurts near the bottom of it. Can hear cheeping noise have no idea why!?

ok the strangest thing is happening, in the hall outside my room i can hear a really loud noise like cheep or a squeak, although its not exactly the same noise i thought somehow a bird must have got in, anyway i go out into the corridor (which is very small) and cannot see any bird, i cant even see any insects, i closed the window thinking that maybe the sound was coming in through the tiny gap (we're talking maybe a centimetre here). i can still hear it though. i just cannot work out what it is, because it is very loud but i honestly cannot see anything that could be the cause, and the window was open to such a tiny amount that i dont know what could have got in. the noise is like EEP 30 second pause EEP 30 second pause and so on. i dont even know how to explain the squeak, closest thing i can think of is if you open an unoiled door really quickly, you know, high pitched and sharp. so basically i just want to know if anyone has any ideas on what it is and how i can get it to shut up so i can get some sleep!

All allegations were disproved, i used to smoke marijuana and because my body was still dumping THC, the judge took one look at it & decided I was unfit, both children are excelling at school, are happy and settled. The impartial childens advocate was referring to me in general conversation as "the junkie" even though I dont use any hard drugs. The judge discounted all the reports proving that the children are happy & normal & settled. All he saw was the pot. I had a long term marijuana habit thanks to the childrens father selling it & bringing it into my life. I used it as a crutch to get through a nervous breakdown but went to my doctor to ask for help & he put me on valium 2mg & efexor-xr, The valium is just until the efexor kicks in. The judge flew into a rage and decided before hearing any evidence that I am unfit the second he saw my drug test which only showed the prescription drugs i was on & the remnants of my body dumping the THC. It was in federal court. What can I do now?
